Apple unveils best Apps, Music, Movies, and TV Shows for 2017

Apple unveils best Apps, Music, Movies, and TV Shows for 2017

Also mentioned is that the most downloaded apps of 2017 are Bitmoji, Snapchat, YouTube, Messenger, Instagram and Facebook.

The Best iPhone App and Game are the meditation app Calm and the puzzle game Splitter Critters. Affinity Photo was chosen as the best iPad app, Aurora HDR 2018 is the best Mac app and ChefsFeed is the #1 Apple TV app.

Apple has unveiled its 2017 charts and trends, celebrating the most popular apps, music, movies, TV shows, books and podcasts across the App Store, Apple Music, iTunes, iBooks and Apple Podcasts.

There's some predictable overlap between the two tech titans' lists of 2017 top sellers, as Game of Thrones, for instance, dominates both Apple and Google's latest yearly TV show charts. In that month alone, roughly 50,000 new apps were added to the iOS App Store while 150,000 new apps found their way to Google Play.

On the gaming side, the most popular app should also come as no surprise: Nintendo's Super Mario Run.

Daily news has proven a popular genre, with new podcasts this year like "The Daily" from the New York Times and "Up First" from NPR charting in the most downloaded podcasts of the year.

The company is working with partners in Africa to offer locally-developed apps and mobile games.

For Apple Music, the most popular album was Drake's More Life and Ed Sheeran snagged the most popular song with Shape of You.

The company on Thursday released its year-end list of top United States apps for iPhones and iPads.

Taylor Swift's album "reputation" has already shot up to number three on the 2017 USA top album charts, despite having only been available for a short period of time.

If you want to see the full lists, just load up iTunes or the App Store and you'll see it all on the front page.
