'Game of Thrones' Season 8 teased by actress Sophie Turner

'Game of Thrones' Season 8 teased by actress Sophie Turner

Maybe this will be good news for "Game of Thrones" fans who don't want the series to end, but bad news for fans anxiously awaiting the show's eighth and final season: star Sophie Turner says "GOT" isn't coming until 2019.

"Game of Thrones comes out in 2019, " she revealed to Variety. After all, the team still has to add in the CGI segments of the series especially when we're all expecting a lot of dragon fights and white walker clashes next season.

Game of Thrones' final season has yet to be given a release date, but the penultimate season is now available in its entirety on HBO Go and HBO Now.

There you have it, Game of Thrones fans, season 8 is many moons away - read Variety's full interview with Turner at this link.

Apart from Turner's accidental confirmation, our knowledge about Season 8 is pretty limited. And without Littlefinger, it's a test for her of whether she can get through it ...

The final season of Game of Thrones will feature six near feature length episodes with budgets of upwards of $15 million per piece.

"Yeah, I'm really excited", Turner said. It's a big challenge for her, without this master manipulator having her back.

With the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones now under production, fans are still eager to learn when the series will return as HBO has yet to confirm an official premiere date. "Dark Phoenix [Turner's X-Men movie] is in November". I don't know about you but it the latter truly is the case then I will physically march to the wall myself (or to some Hollywood office and give David Benioff and D.B Weiss a piece of my mind).

"We're all kind of feeling the end of it coming", Turner said. I'm a producer on my next movie [Girl Who Fell From the Sky].

"Yeah, I'm really excited".

Now, EW makes the argument that this is all for the best, and frankly, we're not going to disagree with that.
