First 'Alita: Battle Angel' Trailer Released

First 'Alita: Battle Angel' Trailer Released

Before he got wrapped up in the Avatar franchise, James Cameron for years promised to adapt the manga and anime Battle Angel Alita to the big screen, finally recruiting Robert Rodriguez of Sin City fame to direct.

Although the storyline in the trailer looks interesting, many fans noticed something peculiar about the main character. While the song choice leaves something to be desired, due to its eternal assocaition with the animal cruelty commerical, there is an uncanny blend of CG and live-action that has our interests peaked.

Alita's eyes, along with the rest of her, land in theaters July 20, 2018. She has no memory of who of what she is, and Ido wants it to stay that way.

The first footage from the upcoming manga adaptation Alita: Battle Angel has been revealed. Rodriguez seems to have followed the same plans, because Alita is definitely a digital creation, and she stands out in her real-world surroundings like a green screen on a set. Rodriguez serves as director for the film. Within the context of an epic action-adventure, the film will explore a young woman's journey of self-discovery and finding love.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez from a script co-written by James Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis, Alita: Battle Angel stars Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Keean Johnson, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jennifer Connelly, Jackie Earle Haley, Lana Condor, Michelle Rodriguez, and Eiza Gonzalez. Everything is new to Alita, every experience a first. And while she tries to make sense of it all while becoming acquainted with the "harsh world" where the powerful prey on the weak, something she must uncover from her past makes her a danger that leads other very powerful cyborgs to hunt her down.
