Facebook Messenger now lets you add World Effects 3D objects

The announcement is a clear sign that Facebook is still going after Snapchat, looking to offer users a Snapchat-like experience inside its own app.

World Effects are basically Facebook's clone of Snap's World Lenses, but one problem Snap has is a lack of resources versus what its much more established rival has.

Facebook just one-upped Snapchat by introducing World Effects - augmented reality 3D world objects on its own.

When you open your Messenger Camera, you will now find even more options to add to a photo or video that you want to take.

Facebook's Messenger platform is visually rich with features like photos, videos, emojis, stickers, and GIFs make and recently the company has also included the ability to send high-res 4K images as well.

Moreover, you can add a 3D heart floating over someone's head and then try panning your phone's camera from side to side.

All social media apps are working so hard to make their apps more attractive and user-friendly and also to compete each other. For now, Facebook users can play around with effects like hearts, arrow and robot in addition to word bubbles like "love", "bae", "heart" and "miss you".

Messenger's new real-time 3D feature works as a filter that users can apply while shooting something or taking a selfie shot.

Facebook Inc.is attempted to expand its presence in the burgeoning augmented reality space with the public launch of AR Studio, a platform based on code it acquired from MSQRD Inc. There you can choose an effect and then tap to add it to your image. First announced at the Facebook F8 conference in April, the platform was beta-tested with around 2,000 brands, publishers and artists prior to its public launch, with Facebook claiming that it is now putting "the power of augmented reality in the hands of all creators".
