Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stun in three newly released engagement photos

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shared their official engagement photographs - and they couldn't look any more in love.

In two images taken by fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski, who has shot numerous fashion-magazine covers featuring such stars as Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley, Julia Roberts, Gwen Stefani and Kate Winslet, the couple are casual and even nuzzling, in contrast to more traditionally staid portraits of the British royal family.

"Harry leans in protectively to enable them to pose with their heads together in a way that would normally signal high levels of trust and like-minded thinking and the expression of love on his face suggests a man who still can't quite believe his luck in finding his ideal woman". The pair, who announced their engagement on November 27, look blissfully happy in the new photos that were shot a stone's throw away from the site of their future royal wedding.

"It was an incredible honor to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple's love for one another", photographer Lubomirski said in a statement from the palace. "I can not help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together".

The snaps were taken by Alexi Lubomirski. The duo held hands, showing off the TV star's engagement ring.

Meghan's face-stroking is so intimate it nearly makes you want to blush and look away and could any other royal bride-to-be have ever been caught sitting in between her prince's legs prior to the marriage?

The Palace tweeted: "Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have chosen to release official photographs to mark their engagement".

For the photo session, Meghan donned a couture gown by Ralph & Russo, which retails for $75,000. The sheer top features embroidery of leaf-like motifs and the ruffled black skirt pulls the look together with a touch of drama. Their snuggling was more polite; Markle is wrapped in Harry's coat, with her hand resting on his face.
