Luann de Lesseps to Check into Alcohol Treatment Center After Arrest

A few days after Luann de Lesseps was arrested on Christmas Eve morning for allegedly kicking an officer and threatening to kill people in Palm Beach, Florida, she's chose to enter into rehab for help with a drinking problem.

In her statement, de Lesseps said that her trip to Palm Beach dug up "long-buried emotions" related to her ex-husband, Tom D'Agostino Jr.

'I have made a decision to seek professional guidance and will be voluntarily checking into an alcohol treatment center.

While being arrested, de Lesseps allegedly continued to yell, "I'm going to f--ing kill you" while police got her under control. I have the greatest respect for police officers and the job they do.

'I am so grateful for the love and support that I am receiving from my family, friends and loyal supporters'.

She was charged with disorderly intoxication, battery on an officer, resisting arrest with violence and corruption by threat, according to the New York Daily News.

When police arrived, she appeared to be intoxicated, according to the police report. "People told her it wasn't a good idea". "I am committed to a transformative and hopeful 2018".

In a statement emailed Sunday to the AP by her spokesman, Pete Sanders, de Lesseps offered her apologies to anyone she might have offended.

She's due back in a Florida court on January 25.

Bravo, which airs the "Real Housewives of NY", did not return Fox News' request for comment.

De Lesseps is known to most as "The Countess", a nickname coined during her time on the Bravo reality series and a reference to the courtesy title she was given during her first marriage to Count Alexandre de Lesseps.

She resisted again as Officer O'Leary placed her in handcuffs, managing somehow to slip out of the shackles once she was in the patrol auto. According to Fox News, the reality star was hanging out with an unknown man at the time of the arrest and went absolutely berserk on the officers.

De Lesseps and D'Agostino are now divorced after tying the knot in Palm Beach on New Year's Eve last year.

However, "before being released, the judge suggested Luann might have a drinking problem, and then warned her not to incriminate herself by responding", TMZ previously reported. Four out of the five charges she is facing are felonies.
