Sony's mid-range phones will reportedly use Snapdragon processors this year

Sony's mid-range phones will reportedly use Snapdragon processors this year

Sony does not seem to want to come late for the flagship leak party, as new computer-aided design (CAD) renders of the Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra have been leaked to the public online.

The report was first made public by Venture Beat and you can access it here. The Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2 have been shown off in leaked pictures, CAD renderings, and caught as they've passed through regulatory bodies. One can see Sony is still following its age-old loop design in these devices as well. In terms of the camera, the XA2 will include a 23MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter on the front.

Moving on, there is a dedicated camera key on the right, while on the left, there is a SIM slot. The devices retain the same 16:9 displays up front instead of trendy 18:9 screens, while the fingerprint sensor has now been moved to rear below the camera modules. The CAD renders were supposedly from Tiger Mobiles, where a generous 360-degree angle view of both phones was also revealed, as well as the front and back of both phones.

Meanwhile, the 6.0-inch XA2 Ultra is keeping its full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and the same memory and storage as the XA Ultra - 4GB of RAM and 64GB SSD. Both sides can record 4K videos. However, in a rather odd turn of events, the Xperia XA2 Ultra may sport a dual-front camera design, something we had reported on earlier, and confirmed by the renders. Enter the Xperia XA2 Ultra, which is looking to be this year's entry. It is said to support Bluetooth 5.0 and will be launching with Android Oreo (8.X). The company is also expected to introduce a low-range smartphone, the Xperia L2. It's easy to understand why the flagships remain strongly supported given their high-quality displays with almost-AMOLED color saturation levels, excellent cameras, and distinctively different design doings.
