British Royal Mail Releases Postage Stamps With 'Game of Thrones' Characters

British Royal Mail Releases Postage Stamps With 'Game of Thrones' Characters

The Royal Mail (Britain's Postal Service) will unleash 15 signature stamps that honor the HBO series on January 23 - though, you can already preorder them here.

Ten stamps in two se-tenant (side-by-side) strips of five show characters from the fantasy drama. Further afield locations include Spain, Croatia and Iceland.

Game of Thrones merchandise comes in all shapes and sizes. The one-of-a-kind collection will incorporate the show's most famous names as well as scenes from Westeros and numerous biggest plot lines. Each stamp is centred on an individual character and features a montage of images from the series. The main collection features 10 stamps spotlighting 10 different major characters from the series: Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Tywin Lannister, Eddard Stark, Cersei Lannister, Arya Stark, Olenna Tyrell, Sansa Stark, Jaime Lannister, and Tyrion Lannister.

In addition to other European locations, the series is filmed in Northern Ireland and Scotland.

A sheet of five additional stamps will feature the non-human characters in the series including the Night King and White Walkers, Direwolves, Dragons and the Iron Throne itself.

"Additionally, the acclaimed cast is predominantly British and Irish, and British expertise is to the fore in many areas of the production, including award-winning costume design and prosthetic special effects", the service added.

Royal Mail has announced the release of 15 first class stamps featuring images from Game of Thrones.

If you feel like it, you can also purchase your very own silver medals, framed stamps and limited editions prints of behind-the-scenes action and more.

They are being released to celebrate the British contribution to the show's production.

The limited edition merchandise will be released on 23 January on the Royal Mail website and in 7,000 post offices in the United Kingdom - mostly the biggest branches around.
