Bills send 1440 buffalo wings to Cincinnati Bengals as 'thank you'

Bills send 1440 buffalo wings to Cincinnati Bengals as 'thank you'

As Buffalo Bills fans prepared to watch their team in a postseason game for the first time since 1999, they still did not forget the heroics of the man who helped get them there.

A local business is extending their appreciation to the Cincinnati Bengals, with a Buffalo twist for defeating the Baltimore Ravens and assisting the Bills in ending their 17-year playoff drought.

The Bengals chose to pay it forward. They donated the wings to the Children's Home of Cincinnati. Some of the players helped to hand them out to kids today.

In a Twitter post Thursday, the Bills announced that the chicken wings and more are on the way.

The feast also will feature 90 pounds of celery, 30 pounds of carrots, six gallons of blue cheese and nine gallons of wing sauce from Duff's Famous Wings, the restaurant handling the order.

The wings aren't the only way Western New York is saying thank you to the Bengals.

The afterglow of the Buffalo Bills' first playoff berth in 17 seasons apparently still lingers, as the team's fans continue to donate money in $17 increments to the charitable foundation created by Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton and his wife.

They raised more than $400 in a raffle.
