Battle Royale Mode to be Update with More Points of Interest

Battle Royale Mode to be Update with More Points of Interest

Epic didn't detail what these are, but they will be listed in the patch notes once the update goes live.

In the four months since its surprise release, the Battle Royale mode for Fortnite has seen its popularity rise immensely, with a player count of over 30 million as of last month.

Fortnite developer Epic Games has just announced on Twitter a massive new update coming to the games' Battle Royale mode.

Thankfully, Xbox Live support now indicates that all services are up and running as per usual, so those who were experiencing problems with PUBG and Fortnite Battle Royale yesterday should hopefully be able to jump back into the games. Fortunately, the removal of these will not lower the amount of loot available across the map, as the 3 new areas being added will add even more.

A new point of interest known simply as City will be introduced, and the west side of the map is about to become more populated due to the upcoming influx of more named areas.

With regard to the Holiday Trees, they will be leaving with the change to the map, but Williamson assures players that other seasonal treasure chests and such feature in future. "Really, the different areas of the map feel more unique", he explained. That means the swamp will be "swampier", and the mountains will be more "mountainy". This is in addition to unspecified quality-of-life improvements that are described as a "work-in-progress".
