Brian Daboll, Potential Josh McDaniels Replacement, Takes Job With Bills

Brian Daboll, Potential Josh McDaniels Replacement, Takes Job With Bills

The Buffalo Bills announced on social media Sunday that they have named Brian Daboll their new offensive coordinator.

Alabama is looking for another new offensive coordinator.

He returns to the National Football League, where he last spent time with the New England Patriots as their tight ends coach during the 2016 season. Daboll spent one season in Tuscaloosa after coming over from the New England Patriots.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott released a statement Sunday saying, "We are excited to hire Brian as our new offensive coordinator and welcome him back to western NY".

With a defensive-minded head coach in Sean McDermott running things in Buffalo, we can expect Daboll to be the primary play-caller moving forward. "I know how much this area means to him". He has won five Super Bowl rings with the organization.

Under Daboll, Alabama ranked 15 in the nation in scoring at 37.1 points per game, 13 in rushing (250.6 yds/gm), and 16 in first downs.

For the fourth time in 14 months, Alabama is in search of an offensive coordinator.

Daboll attended high school in Athol Springs, New York and went to college at the University of Rochester. McDermott was concluding his collegiate playing career at William and Mary when Daboll was a volunteer assistant.
