Larry Nassar will face dozens of his assault victims

Larry Nassar will face dozens of his assault victims

Olympian Simone Biles said Monday that she, too, was among the many sexual assault victims of former Team USA Gymnastics doctor, Larry Nassar.

Kyle Stephens was the first of almost 100 women and girls who will be allowed to speak or will have their statements read by others during the extraordinary four-day hearing in Lansing, Michigan.

She concluded the letter by writing, "I have promised myself that my story will be much greater than this and I promise all of you that I will never give up". "From where it started to where it is now, it's been an emotional roller-coaster", another victim, Kaylee Lorincz, said.

"This behavior is completely unacceptable, disgusting, and abusive, especially coming from someone whom I was TOLD to trust", Biles added.

Others took the opportunity to criticize USA Gymnastics for allowing the abuse to continue in a culture that prioritized silence.

Raisman said she was first treated by Nassar when she was 15.

Nassar, the former U.S.A. Gymnastics team doctor, is due for sentencing on Tuesday in a MI courthouse following a sexual abuse trial.

His deal will have him serving at least 25 years in prison, but that's on top of his federal sentence of 60 years behind bars, which was handed down in December 2017. But for many victims, the statements may also be cathartic, said Kristen Houser, chief public affairs officer for the National Sexual Violence Resource Center."You go through all these months of keeping a secret, and then the investigation, and waiting on the court proceedings". I just can't get over the fact that someone I don't personally know is sticking up for me, let alone a strong women that I've looked up to for years!

Ingham County Circuit Judge Rosemarie Aquilina is expected to order a sentence Friday. She was 23 years old. Here's what you need to know today, Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018. No one faults you or any other victim for that.

The Michigan Attorney General's office is pushing for a 40-year sentenced.

Drawing in part from their strength, the four-time gold medalist acknowledged Monday she is among the athletes who were sexually abused by Larry Nassar.

After pleading guilty, the Lansing State Journal reports, Nassar expressed remorse over his actions.

She ended her statement by rejecting the label of victim, saying, "I'm Jade Capua and I'm a survivor". We are all in this together.

Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas and McKayla Maroney have said previously they were abused by Nassar. Nassar's admission was part of a plea deal in two MI counties, before two different judges.

Facing accusations of a cover-up, USA Gymnastics said in a statement that it acted appropriately and informed law enforcement when it learned about the abuse in 2015. Some of them were underage girls. She described years of severe depression, sleeplessness and other issues. I am not afraid to tell my story anymore. "They're just speaking like it's my voice", Imrie said. Under the guise of providing medically necessary treatment, Nassar instead abused many of his patients.
