Seal reportedly under Investigation for Sexual Battery & Assault

The singer Seal is the subject of a sexual battery investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department after a former Malibu neighbor made accusations against him, authorities said. Seal denies the claims where his rep says "he intends to vigorously defend himself against these false allegations".

Actress Tracey Birdsall told TMZ she was close with the "Kiss From A Rose" crooner when they were neighbors in Los Angeles in 2016. One day, she said she went over to Seal's home to grab the salad spinner from the kitchen that he borrowed, and that's when the events unfolded. He then began to belittle her outfit (a tank top and shorts) before trying to grope her. Birdsall told the entertainment publication it was Seal's hypocritical Weinstein statements that angered her and motivated her to step forward about the alleged assault. She then left the house and broke off all contact with him.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is now investigating the incident and took a report on Saturday for sexual battery.

Police sources told TMZ that a report was filed against the singer over the weekend. The caption, with the hashtag #SanctimoniousHollywood, read, "When you have been part of the problem for decades, but suddenly they all think you are the solution". "My bad." Model Chrissy Teigen chimed in against Seal and then seemed to insinuate that Seal may have gotten his hands dirty in the past as well. He denies her allegations.

According to TMZ.com, Birdsall says it was after seeing Seal's comments that she chose to report the alleged incident to the police. "To all of you who have been raped, to all of you who have been sexually abused, I applaud you for coming forward", he said in a video on Facebook.

Birdsall reportedly adds that she chose to come forward after Seal tweeted out a meme criticizing Oprah Winfrey for hypocrisy after her empowering Cecil B. DeMille Award acceptance speech about Time's Up at the Golden Globes on January 7.
