Roy Halladay Autopsy Traces of Morphine In System at Time of Crash

Morphine is commonly associated with heroin, but TMZ reports there's no indication Halladay was "using heroin or any other clandestine drug".

Toxicology results indicated Halladay had morphine in his system at the time of the crash, as well as the opiate sleep-aid known as Ambien, a trace amount of alcohol, and amphetamine, likely from Adderall or Dexedrine, stimulants used to treat ADHD.

Halladay, 40, also had the sedative zolpidem - commonly known as Ambien - in his body when his single passenger plane crashed into the Gulf of Mexico on November 7.

"The agency released a preliminary report that stated - through witness interviews and Global Positioning System information - the plane made steep climbs before descending to a few feet from the water multiple times and performed a 360-degree turn before the crash". But he was the only person on board at the time of the crash.

The spokesperson said the plane was found upside down in four feet of water and called it a "high-energy impact". During his time in Major League Baseball, he won the Cy Young Award twice and pitched a no-hitter in the 2010 playoffs. He also pitched a ideal game for the Phillies in 2010. He finished his career with the Philadelphia Phillies, where he threw a no-hitter in the playoffs, as well as a regular-season flawless game.

During his 16-year career, Halladay finished with a 203-105 record with a 3.38 ERA.
