Ed Sheeran to marry his childhood friend Cherry Seaborn

Ed Sheeran to marry his childhood friend Cherry Seaborn

Sheeran, 26, announced Saturday morning that he and his longtime girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, are engaged.

His engagement comes after a roller-coaster year.

However, his appearance on the popular TV drama "Game of Thrones" was not welcomed by many fans, leading Sheeran to temporarily delete his Twitter account amid the criticism.

Sheeran met his lady when he was 11 and she was 10.

After they finished their secondary education, Sheeran famously dropped out of school to pursue a career in music.

She has a keen interest in playing Hockey.

Sheeran previously revealed that they began dating after his BFF Taylor Swift invited Seaborn over for her famous Independence Day fete at her Rhode Island home.

She took her degree in molecular biology at Durham University in England. She reportedly chose the university for its hockey facilities, having captained her British team in back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013, according to her bio on the Duke website. "I didn't see her first reaction to the song because she lived in NY at the time".

She is now working as a senior consultant in risk advisory for the global accounting firm Deloitte in London.

She was believed to have been with Sheeran at a Buckingham Palace party in 2016 where it was claimed Princess Beatrice, 29, accidentally cut his face with a sword during a party prank. Her father, Matthew, is an architect and her brother, Charlie, is in the same business as Sheeran.
