Milwaukee Bucks fire head coach Jason Kidd

Milwaukee Bucks fire head coach Jason Kidd

The Milwaukee Bucks may have already had a replacement candidate in mind when they fired head coach Jason Kidd on Monday.

On Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the Bucks fired their coach.

Assistant coach Jeff Prunty will serve as interim head coach and will coach tonight's game against the Phoenix Suns.

"We appreciate everything that Jason has done for the Bucks organization, but we have decided to make a coaching change", Horst said.

The Bucks, who entered the season with high expectations, have lost four of their last five games and seven of their last 11 and are now in eighth place in the Eastern Conference with a 23-22 record.

Kidd ends his three-plus years in Milwaukee with a 139-152 record.

For those not hip to the mean streets of Twitter, he is referring to Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Jason Kidd's Bucks coup ended in disgrace. The Bucks also acquired talented point guard Eric Bledsoe this season to pair with a talented young core that expects to add Jabari Parker by the All-Star break.

Antetokounmpo, who developed into one of the NBA's top players under Kidd's leadership, was reportedly "devastated" by the news of Kidd's ouster.

Bucks made move on Kidd based upon dropping into the 8th seed in the East, frayed relationships in organization and general non-alignment, league sources tell ESPN.

Kidd, who had a 19-year National Basketball Association career and starred for the Nets, got to know Lasry during the player's time in New Jersey.
