Kim Kardashian Shows off Her 'Bo Derek' Braids

Kim Kardashian Shows off Her 'Bo Derek' Braids

Kim Kardashian West is pictured at the 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala Honoring Mark Bradford And George Lucas at LACMA on November 4, 2017 in Los Angeles.

KIM Kardashian bared her breasts again in another topless photoshoot which she teased on her Instagram account.

"So folks I got Bo Derek plaits, and I'm truly into it", she says in the video, referencing the on-screen characters' look from the 1979 film, "10".

Now Kim's gone and credited that same controversial person for creating said appropriated hairstyle, and then imitated the culture herself nearly 50 years later.

'Kim Kardashian should have learned by now how to properly deal with black culture and considering she has three black kids this behaviour is disturbing, ' said one person, whilst another added: 'Kim Kardashian on snap talking about some Bo Derek braids.

And after being celebrated for her braids, Derek came to the defense of Kylie Jenner in 2015 when she too wore cornrows.

Kardashian's look resembles Fulani-style braids - inspired by the Fulani women of East and West Africa - and have been around since ancient times, long before Bo Derek's movie. "The unpredictable plaiting of the hair showed the clan you had a place with", Toni Love, a cosmetologist, stylist, teacher and creator, said in a meeting with Ebony a year ago. "Warriors and kings were identified by their braided hairstyles". Also, how many times is that family gonna get dragged for them to stop appropriating other people's culture. "You could of called them either one but you called them "Bo derek" giving credit to a white woman for a black style knowing you already catch heat for culture vulturing".

Srsly Kim, how about running this stuff by Kris first?

She later apologised for any offence caused, insisting she was simply "really tan" on the day of the shoot.

The images didn't sit well with some who accused her of darkening her skin tone and going overboard with the editing.
