Adele transforms into country music icon Dolly Parton, and it's really something

We're not sure why Adele chose to dress as Dolly on 30 January, but we welcome it nonetheless.

As if the cute pic wasn't enough of a tribute to the country singer, Adele's caption definitely drove the point home.

She wrote alongside the snap: "The effortless queen of song, Dolly Parton!".

"We wish we could possess an ounce of your ability", Adele added.

Adele ended her tweet with nothing, of course, but the title of one of the most iconic Parton songs of all time, "I'll (I will) always love you". Whatever the occasion.it caught Dolly's attention. Adele wasn't about to let any detail slip by, either: She also wore long pink nails, a teased blond wig and plenty of makeup.

"Everyone loves Adele. With all my little nieces, it's all "Adele this" and "Adele that!' And I love how she does her makeup, and so I'm always saying to my little nieces, 'Can you fix my eyes like Adele?'" she said".

Adele's admiration for Parton isn't a one-way street, though; there's a mutual love between the two music stars.

Adele has had a busy month paying tribute to some of her idols, having visited fellow songstress Celine Dion. The way you worded it I thought she was dead! "Listen, I thought Dolly had passed away from this post and I started crying".

In 2016, Parton told Digital Spy that she "would love to do something with" Adele.

"I love how she looks, I love how she sings, I love how she is".

Last year Celine invited Adele to duet with her at some point in the future during an appearance on Lorraine.
