'West Ham Don't Want Black Players'

West Ham have sacked their director of player recruitment Tony Henry after he made controversial comments regarding African players over the January transfer window.

Mexican worldwide Javier Hernandez equalised for the Hammers after Glenn Murray's opening goal for Brighton, but the Seagulls went on to seal the win through strikes from Jose Izquierdo and Pascal Gross.

However, two terrific second-half goals from Pascal Gross and Jose Izquierdo condemned what has been a terrible week for West Ham after Tony Henry revealed he wanted to restrict the number of African players the club signed.

Rocked by the early goal, West Ham already looked somewhat groggy as Brighton probed menacingly for a second with Murray's effort blocked and Knockaert wayward. Two of the listed stars -Joao Mario and Angelo Ogbonna - have chosen to represent Portugal and Italy respectively despite being able to play for African countries through their parents.

Speaking to West Ham's official website, he revealed he's even trying to learn the lyrics to the Hammers famous anthem "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles".

He wrote: 'We don't want any more Africans and he's not good enough. We find that when they are not in the team they cause mayhem. "We are still in a battle to stay up but it's the same for the other teams".

"We need to stick together and pull in one direction now and go into every game and try to get maximum points".

It was an emotional day at The Hawthorns, where there was a minute's applause before the game for their former striker Cyrille Regis, who died last month.

Moyes accepts that there will be times when his side lose, but has challenged them to bounce back at home to Watford next time out. "Then, in the summer, we will see".

Moyes also approached the club's players to hold a "frank conversation" with them regarding the reports surrounding Henry.
