Akshay Kumar holds special screening of Padman for school children in Gujarat

Akshay Kumar, who plays the lead role in PadMan, had tagged Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone and Virat Kohli, but so far, Virat hasn't completed the task. It will be interesting to see whether Big B, Bhai and Badshah take up the challenge sportingly or not! "It's natural! Period. "Pad Man" challenge", Aamir tweeted on Friday.

While Twinkle Khanna and her team have been hoping to make "Pad Man" more than a film and make it become a movement, to take that step to an even greater high, Twinkle Khanna threw a "PadMan Challenge" to everyone out there. Twinkle posted her own picture and passed the challenge on to Aamir, actress Shabana Azmi, and industrialist Harsh Goenka.

Akshay Kumar on Monday took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share a picture along with Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and R Balki, who is the director of the film and wrote, "The very first screening of #PadMan held today for school children".

Films with a social message have always received much support and desired promotion from across the film industry itself. The film focuses on removing the stigma around periods and also encourages menstrual hygiene.

It is known that director R Balki's upcoming flick "PadMan" deals with the story of Mr Muruganatham and his invention of low-priced sanitary napkin making machine. It's natural! Period. #PadManChallenge.

Starring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor, PadMan is slated to release on Februray 9. Here's hoping that, after this, no woman will have to whisper and ask for a pad when she goes out to buy a packet at the chemists.
