Four Character Posters Debut For Solo

Four Character Posters Debut For Solo

Last night's Super Bowl meant the release of the new teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Fans finally got their first extended look at the new Han Solo, along with Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian, the return of Chewbacca, and the Mother of Dragons herself, Emilia Clarke as the mysterious Qi'ra.

The action revs up in Monday's first trailer too, with Solo showing off his flight skills before the Millennium Falcon nearly crashes into the craziest, kracken-style space monster that "Star Wars" fans have ever seen as the clip comes to a close.

It all seems quite low-key, until a spectacular glimpse of the shiny, new Millennium Falcon being pursued by a Star Destroyer and TIE fighter squadron in a thunderstorm. I already have a pretty packed slate of summer movies that I want to see more than this.

Also, and most importantly, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. It has Empire Strikes Back's Lawrence Kasdan as a writer and Ron Howard as director, however, so the storytelling talent is there.

Star Wars also shared a peek at the film's posters, which have a retro vibe that just emphasizes the aged look of the faux paper. "I was kicked out of the flight academy for having a mind of my own", he continues, while the camera pans to him driving recklessly but awesomely, leaving destruction in his wake. A cocky young man claims that he's not only going to become a pilot, he's going to be the best in the galaxy.

Little has been revealed about the actual storyline of the latest "Star Wars" standalone, other than the fact that Solo's adventure includes his meeting Chewbacca and coming across Lando, according to Disney's film description.
