Six Nations 2018: England's Richard Wigglesworth ready for Wales test

Six Nations 2018: England's Richard Wigglesworth ready for Wales test

Youngs was injured just nine minutes into the 46-15 victory on the opening weekend of the Six Nations when his left leg was trapped as he passed from the back of a ruck.

But Ben Youngs' knee injury means the Saracens player returns for Saturday's Six Nations encounter with Wales.

Wigglesworth, who has 27 worldwide caps, has played at two Rugby World Cups in 2011 and 2015 and was last called up to the squad in May 2017. "If you do a good job this week maybe you'll get next week".

Wigglesworth is likely to be used as a replacement against the Welsh, but insists he will be ready to start if called upon.

Wigglesworth has spent time in Eddie Jones' squad having played for an England XV in the Barbarians game in the summer of 2017, but has not featured at Test level since 2015.

"I was on that Sunday night and Monday morning to try and get ahead of the game".

The 34-year-old has made over 180 appearances for club side Saracens, where he has won Premiership and Champions Cup titles.

Youngs and Danny Care have been the preferred choices for most of Jones' tenure.

"I was excited at first but then there are the logistics of who's going to look after who".

"I spoke to Eddie before the tournament".

"Scrum-half is one of the positions where you constantly learn and improve", he explains.
