Vampyr finally sees the light of day on June 5

Focus Home Interactive and Dontnod are hoping that players will want to sink their teeth into Vampyr this Spring. The Parisian studio also talk about the importance of the game's presentation and how the narrative feeding back into the player's control is what makes video games a unique medium to convey a story through.

We will know for sure just how well the experiment and extra time has benefitted Vampyr when it releases on June 5 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Dontnod Presents Vampyr - Episode IV: Stories from the Dark reveals yet more exclusive gameplay footage, plus the release date. Because of this, the exploration, investigations, citizen encounters, combat and hard-hitting choices are all fundamentally intertwined with the game's narrative.

In doing so, Dontnod likens it to theatre, creating a close relationship between actor and spectator that's more effective and powerful than any film or TV show.

Dontnod's Vampyr is largely predicated on moral dilemmas - the push and pull of protagonist Dr. Reid's medical sensibilities to save people and his vampire instinct to prey on them.

Set in a semi-open world of London in 1918, during the Spanish Flu epidemic, you'll be exploring four districts which can all end up destroyed should the player commit to certain actions.

Dontnod Entertainment's Vampyr, their follow-up to the critical darling Life is odd, garnered a lot of attention when it was announced in 2016 and left fans disappointed when it missed its late-2017 release window.
