Wenger: Kane made the difference, that's what he's about

Wenger: Kane made the difference, that's what he's about

His importance to the Tottenham side can not be overstated, and after the comfortable victory over Arsenal, Pochettino said of his superstar, as quoted by Marca: "He's the present and future of this club".

And, with new boys Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan making their maiden north London derby appearances and Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli in the midst of a diving storm, the Arsenal manager cautioned his players to stay focused.

"The first goal was key and we conceded it. Kane made the difference".

Despite the dominance however, Arsenal certainly had their chances to make Spurs pay for not beating Cech a few times as Alexandre Lacazette had a couple of fantastic late chances to equalise.

"In the first half we missed three or four opportunities on the counter attack which is hard to swallow, always the final ball".

His goal marked his 23rd of the Premier League season and will be up there with the most important that he has scored by securing bragging rights in North London.

Kane's 49th-minute header came after a turgid first half, and Spurs missed a number of good chances to extend their lead as they continued to dominate.

Chances were few and far between in the first half, but Arsenal had the better of the openings without doing much when in unsafe areas.

"Looking at that they will probably get a top-four place". Spurs are now seven points ahead of the Gunners and St. Totteringham's Day is appearing unlikely for a second straight season as Arsenal lost yet another North London derby.

"They had two or three opportunities where they could have scored, but in the final part of the game we should have come back to 1-1".

The next game may be too late as we are already 7 points behind Tottenham and our next League game is against Man City straight after the League Cup Final, but Bellerin is not giving up on us still making the Top Four.

Languishing in sixth place in the Premier League, Wenger's side are however just four points behind fifth placed Tottenham.

Instead, Arsenal were left relying on goalkeeper Petr Cech to repeatedly thwart Tottenham and prevent an even heavier loss. My agent went to Arsenal, I wasn't there myself but it was very respectful and in the end I had to make a choice and I chose Spurs.

Cech made an incredible save to one of Kane's chances, and continued his masterclass performance by denying Eriksen from bagging a attractive curler afterwards to keep his side's hopes alive.

Wenger could also take heart from the performance of Mohamed Elneny, who suggested again that what he lacks in quality on the ball, he makes up for in defensive solidity.
