Google's Project Fi now supports more than 170 global destinations

Google's multi-network cell service Project Fi will now offer users worldwide data coverage in more countries across the globe. That is up from the 135 nations the organization has since quite a while ago offered benefit in. Phone calls outside of the USA are billed at 20 cents per minute and are not included in Bill Protection. New countries where service is now available include the likes of Belize and Myanmar. Today, Project Fi is adding more countries, while adding proactive travel alerts based on your emails.

T-Mobile, which offers unlimited worldwide data for most of its post-paid plans, says it covers "140+ countries".

The next time you have an global trip planned, Google's Project Fi has you covered.

Depending on how you count, there's just under 200 countries in the world.

The new feature is actually activated by default in Project Fi, but you can disable it from within your account settings. As Choi notes, users will receive a notification in the Project Fi app shortly before a trip that shows coverage options and costs. A complete list of locations covered by Project Fi can be found over on Project Fi's rates page. This applies to global data, too.
