Google Images: Search Engine Removes the View Image Button, Here's Why?

Google Images: Search Engine Removes the View Image Button, Here's Why?

The button was extremely useful for users, since when you're searching for a picture, there's a very good chance that you want to take it and use it for something. By creating its own captive, image-rich environment and cutting off user traffic to competing websites, Google is able to maintain and reinforce its dominance in search. "They are created to strike a balance between serving user needs and publisher concerns, both stakeholders we value".

Google said it had removed some features from image search, including the "view image" button.

The View Image button was used by millions & billion of Google users around the globe.

Google Images: Search Engine Removes the View Image Button, Here's Why?

The case got worse when stock photography website Getty Images filed a complaint against it in Europe. This will make it hard for anyone to directly save those high-quality images from the search results. It meant you could click an image in the stream, then click the button to see the image full size without having to load anything else.

Moving forward, Google has agreed to make changes in Image Search, including making the copyright disclaimer more prominent and removing the view image button. There are tons of public domain and creative commons images out there (like everything on Wikipedia, for instance), and lots of organizations are free to use many copyrighted images under fair use. The decision about the change was likely made in response to the deal with Getty Images that Google settled last week. An example of people would be photographers, publishers or anyone that wanted their image strictly on their website and not stolen.

People who constantly search for images online will immediately notice what Google did to the Images section of its search engine. "The Visit button remains, so users can see images in the context of the web pages they're on", Google has announced on Twitter. However, right-clicking on the image and selecting the option "open image in the new tab" continues to open the full-size image in the new tab. The process, however, has just been made a bit more extensive in that the user will now have to visit the particular site where the image is present.
