The new office is now located at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg in Delhi.

Lauding the party workers, Modi said the Jan Sangh and BJP leaders have been at the forefront of all leading mass movements post Independence. "The fact that there are several parties in the nation adds to the beauty of democracy in India", he said. The foundation stone for the new building was laid in August past year by PM Modi and Amit Shah.

BJP is the first party to comply with the Supreme Court's order to shift out of the Luyten's Bungalow area in Delhi.

Addressing the gathering, party president Amit Shah said: "Today is a very auspicious day for the BJP". The interesting question is will be the Prime Minister's visit to Karnataka bring good luck to the BJP in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's stronghold. The BJP's shift may put pressure on other parties to follow suit as nearly all of them have been functioning for decades out of bungalows. BJP's Ashoka Road office and the Congress office at Akbar Road are part of the pool of government residences. BJP president Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Murli Manohar Joshi and other senior leaders were also present during the inauguration of party's new office.

The foundation for the 70-room new office space had been laid in August 2016 by PM Modi and Amit Shah. The premises has three buildings fitted with modern communication tools, enabling party office-bearers to coordinate their work with counterparts in states and local levels in real time.

The Prime Minister said the new building, readied in just one-and-a-half years, was not made of bricks but firmly enjoined with aspirations and ambitions of 11 crore party members. However, he felt that there should be more national parties in the country. "Their sacrifices won't go in vain", he added. There are several parties with their own views, ideologies and working. "Vajpayee was successful in taking allies along while navigating regional aspirations and sparking a new hope in the country".
