Hughes returns for England

Hughes returns for England

"We are really excited about this game".

Eddie Jones hopes Nathan Hughes will be able to muscle his way round Murrayfield when England's Six Nations title defence resumes against Scotland on Saturday.

Sunny isn't often used to describe the scene at Murrayfield in February but the weather is set fair for Saturday's Calcutta Cup clash.

Hughes has recovered from the knee ligament damage sustained on club duty for Wasps in December and is thrust straight into the back row in the absence of Sam Simmonds, who featured against Italy and Wales.

"We will need to be very tough and relentless in our defense to keep the pressure on his Scottish team". No, but we are going to target him.

"We're playing against a Scotland side that are a very good team, we respect them greatly but they've got to understand that we've had two very good weeks of preparation", he told Sky Sports.

Former Sheffield Wednesday academy player Danny Care said: "We have had Gareth Southgate and Antonio Conte here before at training and it is great that people want to come in and see what is going on with England".

"We've got a mindset of being able to grind out games if we need to, but at the same time if the opportunity allows we can move the ball well".

"Last year we let our emotions get to us a little bit too much, and that resulted in them beating us by a hefty amount".

"I think that they struggled with the expectation in the first game against Wales but played very well against France".

"Now their game is very similar to the All Blacks in the way they play, their kicking strategy is nearly a carbon copy of the All Blacks' kicking strategy".

"Joe has worked really hard to improve and is such an important player for us".

Lawes is one of the most utilised players under the stewardship of Eddie Jones, having featured in 21 of 25 Tests since the Australian took over, and the 28-year-old says elements of his game have developed tenfold in that time.

But he made three changes on the bench with fit-again prop WP Nel and lock Tim Swinson coming into the matchday 23 and centre Nick Grigg getting a place among the substitute backs after a man-of-the-match winning performance for Glasgow Warriors over the Cheetahs in the PRO14 last weekend.

Elsewhere, the pack is as it was against Wales last time out with a frontrow of Mako Vunipola, captain Dylan Hartley - who moves to become the second most capped England worldwide of all time in the process - and Dan Cole.
