Chevy Chase I Didn't Throw Road Rage Punch ... I Physically Couldn't!!!

Actor Chevy Chase was kicked during an apparent road rage incident in Rockland County, police said Thursday. But it isn't known whether he was dropped when a 22-year-old driver kicked him in the shoulder. The injury caused Chase to have trouble lifting his arm, making it near impossible for him to throw a punch, his reps told TMZ.

Chase immediately realized there was no damage to either vehicle but made a decision to approach the pickup's driver to "speak to him about his reckless driving", according to police reports. Landrio, of East Patchogue, was arrested and charged with second-degree harassment and was released on an appearance ticket.

Chase, whose lengthy career includes "SNL", "Fletch", "Hot Tub Time Machine", "Caddyshack" and "Community", next appears in the film "The Last Movie Star" with Burt Reynolds, opening next month in theaters.

Chase told police he was cut off by another driver on February 9.

Landrio told the New York Post that Chase started the incident, saying the actor began following his vehicle and flashing his lights. "I said, 'Get the f- away from me!'"

"I closed my auto door and locked it but he was still trying to get in at me when a nurse and an off-duty cop escorted him away", Landrio said. Police said they were not able to confirm that. Landrio said Chase screamed, "You know who the f- I am?" The "Community" star then reportedly opened Landrio's auto door and yelled, "I'm going to punch you in the nose".

"If I were a lot younger I'd bust your nose", the actor said he told the passenger before he was kicked in the shoulder and fell to the ground, TMZ reported.

"I looked him up on Google and I still didn't know who he was", he says.

But Landrio told the New York Post's Page Six that he moved from the right lane to the middle lane when he approached the bridge.
