Ex-NFL player in custody after gun photo threatens former teammates, school

Ex-NFL player in custody after gun photo threatens former teammates, school

Former Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin posted a chilling Instagram story that forced a high school to close.

The school's campuses in Los Angeles are expected to remain open.

"The post was captioned, 'When you're a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge".

A second-round draft pick by the Dolphins in 2012, Martin became the face of bullying in the National Football League after an investigation found a "pattern of harassment" by Incognito and Pouncey.

Police have stationed extra patrols around the area of the Harvard-Westlake campus, and school officials chose to close the campus on Friday.

A former student of the preparatory school apparently used Instagram to say he wanted to seek revenge for alleged bullying he underwent when he attended, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Kuey said. He later admitted to depression and said he had attempted suicide. Martin made serious accusations about several Dolphins players, coaches, and trainers, costing Incognito a one year absence from the National Football League and psych counseling and two staff members their jobs. But he resurfaced Thursday when he posted a chilling story on his Instagram page.

"You learn to tone down your size & blackness by becoming shy, introverted, friendly, so you won't scare the little rich white kids or their parents", he wrote in 2015. "It takes away your self-confidence, your self-worth, your sanity".

Harvard-Westlake issued a statement on Friday announcing the closure of classes on two campuses due to the post. "We will provide more information later today". Everybody is calm, a lot of people are leaving now, everything is under control.

The tension around the United States surrounding gun control has reached another high point in the wake of the devastating shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High Schooll located in Florida where 17 people were killed this past week.
