MetLife, Enterprise and Hertz among companies cutting ties with the NRA

Earlier this week, First National Bank also announced that it would not renew an existing contract with the gun group, adding that the company will soon stop issuing NRA Visa Cards to members due to "customer feedback". No other information on the decision was given. The branded cards did not offer special discounts, but were meant to proudly identify the user as a member of the largest pro-gun lobbying agency.

A spokesperson for Enterprise Holdings said the company had "ended the discount program, effective March 26", but did not answer CNNMoney's inquiries about when and why the program was terminated.

Enterprise Holdings, who also operate Alamo and National auto rentals, tweeted out saying that it will end its partnership in all three brands effective immediately on March 26.

"A prominent private banking company and a top auto rental chain are cutting ties with the National Rifle Association amid a social media movement to "#BoycottNRA". Both advertise discounts to NRA members.

The cybersecurity giant said Friday on Twitter that it "has stopped its discount program with the National Rifle Association".

Symantec is ending a partnership deal with the National Rifle Association amid backlash against it after the recent school shooting in Parkland, Fla. And SimpliSafe, which sells home security systems, said the same.

The NRA has faced increasing backlash following the Florida school shooting, one of the deadliest in the country.

Some of those survivors confronted NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch at a CNN town hall on Wednesday. Not only is the NRA facing a lot of negative attention, but so is its partner companies.

Wyndham Hotel Group said in a statement that it "ended our relationship with the NRA late previous year".
