Who you Gonna Call? AR Game Ghostbusters World in 2018

Who you Gonna Call? AR Game Ghostbusters World in 2018

The art on the website for "Ghostbusters World" features recognizable characters from a variety of Ghostbusters movies, cartoons and comic books, including Slimer, the ghost of Gertrude Aldridge from the recent reboot film, and the Bug-Eye ghost from a 1980s line of Ghostbusters toys. Maybe your friend who loves hunting Pokemon with you, because the new Ghostbusters World augmented-reality game looks pretty cool.

The core gameplay will be skill-based and feature the latest in AR technology, with even more intriguing features to be announced as we get closer to release.

Sung-Jin Han, CEO of 4:33 commented: "We are thrilled to work with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Ghost Corps to bring the iconic Ghostbusters franchise to life".

Since the game is 100% official, you cannot only expect to see characters and ghosts from the two original films, but also from the recent reboot, cartoons, comic books, video games, and theme parks.

Sony says more information on the game "will be revealed soon", including in a playable demo offered at Google's booth at Mobile World Congress this weekend. Ghostbusters World isn't the only upcoming AR Game on the horizon. There's a Walking Dead AR mobile game, the creators of Pokémon GO are currently working on a Harry Potter AR mobile game, and now another big franchise joins these ranks. We have some early details on the game along with the first teaser trailer and some visuals of the new title down below ahead of its release sometime this year. I don't know if I would actually have the time or inclination to put a lot of effort into GHOSTBUSTERS WORLD, but it could certainly be a fun diversion.
