Egypt receives 500000 barrels of crude oil from Saudi each month

Egypt receives 500000 barrels of crude oil from Saudi each month

The investment deal underlines the strategic ties between the richest Arab state and the most populous.

The Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to President El-Sisi, while the president sent his greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

Former Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Araby described as "special and important" Prince Mohammed's visit.

During a summit in Cairo on Sunday, Egypt President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stressed the importance of joining their countries' efforts to address attempts to divide the region and the threat of terrorism and countries supporting it.

Saudi Arabia has remained Egypt's biggest supporter since the Egyptian army ousted Mohamed Morsi, Egypt's first freely elected president, in a 2013 military coup led by al-Sisi.

It's worth saying that the Lebanese prime minister declared his resignation from the Saudi capital in November past year, citing Iran-backed Hizbollah's influence in his country.

Bin Salman's visit comes a day after Egypt's top constitutional court nullified a lower court ruling that challenges the country's transfer of two Red Sea islands to Saudi Arabia according to a maritime demarcation agreement.

Hariri's brief resignation was seen as a politically orchastrated move by Saudi Arabia, with President Michel Aoun accusing the Kingdom of holding him against his well.

Sisi is guaranteed a win in a vote where, critics say, authorities have locked up opponents or forced them to halt election campaigns. The charges have repeatedly been denied by Qatar.

Following the three-day visit to Cairo, in the second leg of the trip, the Saudi prince will head to Britain where he will meet Prime Minister Theresa May and then to the United States.
