Mueller reportedly subpoenas one witness's communications with Trump, among others

Mueller reportedly subpoenas one witness's communications with Trump, among others

Former Trump campaign adviser Sam Nunberg said Monday that he won't comply with a subpoena to appear before the grand jury in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

Nunberg also said he got the impression from his interview with Mueller's team that they had evidence implicating Trump.

Trump responded this morning on Twitter, accusing the Obama administration of launching an investigation "with zero proof of wrongdoing", which he said was "unprecedented" and "bigger than Watergate". Special counsel Robert Mueller has requested various documents tied to President Trump and a number of his associates, according to multiple reports.

"What you're doing is surprising to say the least, but you sat there in that room being questioned by Mueller's investigators", Tur said. Hicks, former White House strategist Steve Bannon, Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, Lewandowski and Stone were among the names listed.

Nunberg also said that had Trump not won the Republican primary, "he was probably going to endorse Hillary Clinton".

Nunberg was initially hired as a political adviser to Donald Trump all the way back in 2012, when Trump considered seeking the Republican nomination.

"I think he may have done something during the election", Nunberg told MSNBC.

"Let him arrest me", Nunberg told the paper.

Nunberg added that he plans to defy a subpoena from Mueller to appear before a grand jury in Washington this Friday.

Later in the interview, he said it would take him 80 hours. This is made more interesting by the fact that Nunberg was previously mentored by Roger Stone, prior to Nunberg's stint on the unrealized 2012 Trump campaign.

"I'm not going to build the case that they are trying to build". "I think that he may have done something during the election, but I don't know that for sure", Nunberg said. Roger is like family to me.

Shortly after Nunberg's comments on MSNBC, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders weighed in, calling the former aide's prediction "incorrect".

"If she wants to attack me, I can attack her", Nunberg said.
