Q2 Weather: Falling snow stops, but blowing snow is still trouble

Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Winds will increase across the area today, causing areas of blowing and drifting snow with reduced visibility and hard travel. The wind will continue to howl through the early evening before relaxing late Monday night.

Friday is on track to be partly sunny with a high of 41 and a low of 28.

Before a mix of snow and rain comes to the area on Tuesday, we can expect a couple of pleasant days. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. It's going to stay windy, out of the northwest, from 20 to 40 miles per hour. Low around 29. Northwest wind 11 to 13 miles per hour.

Tuesday night: A slight chance of rain and snow between 8 and 9 p.m, then a chance of snow.

There also is a chance of snow showers Thursday night. Winds turn W-NW at 15-40 miles per hour.

Tuesday night, the low will be around 27 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

The forecast for the weekend calls for mostly sunny skies with highs in the 50s. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

A west wind of 16 to 22 miles per hour gusting as high as 33 miles per hour will add to fire danger from dry grasses and low humidity today as temperatures reach a high near 56, according to the National Weather Service. Tuesday should see a high of 42 and a low of 32. North wind around 5 miles per hour becoming light and variable.

Friday, the high will be near 61 with partly sunny skies, the weather service said.

Saturday - A chance of rain and snow showers.
