Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway Get 2nd Chance to Present Oscar

Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway Get 2nd Chance to Present Oscar

Dunaway, 77, and Beatty, 80, gave viewers one of the most memorable Oscar nights ever in 2017 when Beatty took a look at the card, seemed to be unclear about what he saw, and handed the card to Dunaway, who saw the words La La Land and pronounced it best picture victor instead of Moonlight. Instead of saying the correct name of the victor (Moonlight), the card read: "Emma Stone, La La Land".

Beatty announced that "The Shape of Water" won, and the joke continued when director Guillermo Del Toro grabbed the envelope from the actor and held it up as proof, drawing laughs from the crowd.

"You like me! You really like me!"

Last year's Academy Awards will go down in history for being the one with the big mix-up, when the wrong envelope was handed to presenters Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty, leading them to announce La La Land as the victor for Best Picture over real victor Moonlight.

A year ago it was a much different story as the Bonnie And Clyde actors were at the center of an envelope mishap involving Academy Awards agency PriceWaterhouseCoopers which counts the votes.

Got a story tip? And they said, it's okay.

Meryl Streep, who holds the record for the most Academy Award nominations of any actor, played up her reputation while collecting the gong for The Iron Lady in 2012.

Warren and Faye were all smiles as they came on stage, with Beatty saying: 'It's so nice seeing you again'. That honor goes to two veteran Oscar winners, Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren. At least, as Jimmy pointed out to ABC, "I think that the biggest safeguard there is, is that this company - PricewaterhouseCoopers - will literally have to go out of business if they [mess up the envelope] a second time".

Set for a return appearance at the Oscars is Common, who will duet with Andra Day on "Stand Up For Something" from "Marshall".

Kimmel offered nominees a free Jet Ski for the shortest acceptance speech. The envelope was on full display when Eva Marie Saint presented the award for Best Costume Design.
