Michelle Obama has dance party with two-year-old admirer; soundtrack by Taylor Swift

Remember that heartwarming photo of a little girl being awestruck by Michelle Obama's fabulously FLOTUS-y portrait?

A little girl in Washington was recently captivated by a portrait of former first lady Michelle Obama, and the two got the chance to meet Tuesday for a "dance party".

Parker's mom, Jessica Curry, also shared the picture on Instagram, writing, "My big girl admiring @asherald's portrait of @michelleobama yesterday at @smithsoniannpg ♥️".

Remember the little girl who was mesmerized by the portrait of First Lady Michelle Obama?

For her part, Parker's mom said she is grateful for the painting and hopes it inspire Parker to dream big.

"All I wanted was just one pic", Curry said.

In a cultural moment defined by sexual misconduct allegations and a non-stop feed of political turmoil, the days of Barack and Michelle Obama's leadership from the White House feel increasingly far away.

"I think we were all just smiling, and her joy and her awe was infectious", he added. "She was fascinated", Jessica said. Amid the often staid and sedate arts scene of the USA capital city, viewing the two portraits, by Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald, has turned into a cultural event - one defined by an irresistible confluence of politics, celebrity, representation, and social media.

The photo that started it all was posted on Facebook by Ben Hines, after he watched the moment unfold. What dreams may come? "President Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama delivered remarks as did Smithsonian Secretary David Skorton, National Portrait Gallery Director Kim Sajet and artists Wiley and Sherald".

See more on the portrait that caught Curry's attention below.
