Russia: Ex-aide refuses to co-operate with Mueller probe

Russia: Ex-aide refuses to co-operate with Mueller probe

Sam Nunberg, who helped launch Donald Trump's presidential campaign in 2015, embarked on a surreal, daylong media blitz in which he defiantly dared special counsel Robert Mueller to arrest him, called the president "stupid" and suggested Trump colluded with Russian Federation to undermine the 2016 election.

UPDATE: March 5, 2018, 5:09 p.m. PST Nunberg next appeared on CNN Monday evening, where anchor Erin Burnett claimed she smelled alcohol on his breath.

However, he told the Daily Caller on Tuesday that he was going to comply with the subpoena and was undergoing the process of handing over his emails for special counsel Robert Muller's investigation.

The big story is that he's (maybe) thumbing his nose at Special Counsel Robert Mueller; as the Washington Post puts it in a front-page story this morning headlined "Ex-Trump aide vows to defy Mueller (retitled for the web as "Former Trump aide Sam Nunberg called before grand jury, says he will refuse to go")".

"Nunberg took over cable news like a auto chase", the host of CBS' The Late Show said, rattling off some off the many TV stops the guy made today.

I just, because it is the talk out there, again, I know it's awkward.

"I'm not spending 80 hours going over my emails with Roger Stone and Steve Bannon and producing them", Nunberg said. However, Nunberg said Trump's bodyguard told him that one of the real estate mogul's Russian contacts, Emin Agalarov, offered to send women up to Trump's room, but he refused.

Sam Nunberg first worked for one of Trump's businesses and later helped advise Trump's presidential campaign, but he was sacked in August 2015 amid reports that he posted racially charged messages on Facebook. "Donald Trump won this election on his own".

Nunberg can take that as some additional free legal advice. Nunberg rejected any notion that Trump had colluded with Russians. "They are trying to set up a perjury case against Roger Stone, and I'm not going to have it".

"You know he knew about it".

"I think the media was very fair, I don't think they did anything inappropriate", he said. "As we've said many times before, there was no collusion with the Trump campaign", said White House press secretary Sarah Sanders when asked about his comment. And as the 45th President celebrates his first year in office, we take at his funniest pics from the past 365 days. She said the subpoena was "reasonable" and that Nunberg would do "more service" by testifying than by refusing, because a refusal carried an appearance of wrongdoing.
