Send Your Name to the Sun Aboard NASA's Parker Solar Probe

Interested people who want to send their names to Sun can submit their names before April 27. Hence, through this car-sized Parker Solar Probe, Scientists want to explore the Sun and decode its mysteries. "This mission will answer questions scientists have sought to uncover for more than six decades", said Thomas Zurbuchen, Associate Administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington. The aim of the mission is to study how the solar wind and energy affect Earth and other worlds.

The spacecraft is about the size of a small vehicle and will travel directly into the Sun's "atmosphere" to a distance of about 4 million miles from the star's surface.

NASA launched a website for the Summer 2018 Hot Ticket, which refers to the pending launch of the Parker Solar Probe.

You can send your name to the sun, via a microchip installed on NASA's Parker Solar Probe mission.

NASA is doing this to raise public awareness for the breakthrough mission, which may possibly change the landscape of human knowledge on the sun and the solar system.

The size of a small vehicle, it can travel from Washington DC to Tokyo in under a minute, NASA said. For this situation, given Parker's achievements inside the field, and how firmly adjusted this mission is with his examination, the choice was made to respect him before dispatch, keeping in mind the end goal to attract consideration regarding his critical commitments to heliophysics and space science. Parker Solar Probe Mission - which the scientists are eagerly waiting for, will include a spacecraft that will wander the sun 4 million miles away from its surface at a speed of about 430,000 mph.

The Parker Solar Probe, which is named after solar astrophysicist Eugene Parker, will carry the mission of venturing into the atmosphere of the sun to try to unlock the secrets of the host star of the solar system.

Our Sun - the brightest star of our solar system, is responsible for nearly all the lifeforms that sustain on Earth. "This incredible spacecraft is going to reveal so much about our star and how it works that we've not been able to understand". This is the first time NASA has named a spacecraft in the honor of a living individual. This is the first ever solar mission travelling to an atmosphere with temperatures more than 1 million degrees!

Back in the '50s, Parker proposed a number of groundbreaking theories about how stars - including our sun - give off energy. It will also delve into what accelerates the solar wind and solar energetic particles.

Eugene Parker also theorised an explanation for the superheated solar atmosphere, the corona, which is - contrary to what was expected by physics laws - hotter than the surface of the Sun itself.
