Apple's new release of iOS 11.3 - offer much more than expectation

Apple's new release of iOS 11.3 - offer much more than expectation

If it's not entirely obvious, iOS 11.3 is the most significant of the bunch, containing the most features.

iOS 11.3 has the option of battery transparency in their devices such as iPhone, iPod, ad iPad.

Additionally, ARKit has been refined to work better with irregularly-shaped surfaces, including circular tables. The view of the real world through the camera now has 50 percent greater resolution and supports auto-focus for an even sharper perspective.

As the Apple blogosphere has noted, the Music Videos remodel was supposed to be included in iOS 11.3, meaning its full-on release should be arriving soon.

Owners of older devices can now disable a feature that slows down their iPhone to prevent a sudden shutdown. One of the most notable improvements is that apps can now use ARKit to place objects on horizontal surfaces, the potential of which is on display in several demos developers shared on Twitter.

Apple is also introducing a new feature in the Health app.

In addition to the 12 health systems announced with the beta, 27 more are ready to launch the service, for a total of 39. Apple touts that this makes for a "new music video experience for Apple Music". If you forgot about Animjois, today is your lucky day as Apple is adding four new Animojis - a dragon, a bear, a lion and a skull. Apple already shared a preview of iOS 11.3 a couple of months ago.

Coincidentally - and just in time to stand in contrast with the Facebook-Cambridge Analytica privacy debacle - the update brings a revised declaration of respect for privacy that appears after the update. All you need to do is navigate to Settings General Software Update.

There's also a new Health Records feature within the Health app that will let patients of more than 40 health systems-including Duke, NYU Langone, Stanford, and Yale-view their medical records on the iPhone. It's mainly just made up of features that coincide with iOS 11.3, such as the Business Chat mentioned above.

This different approach to user data is something Tim Cook has been keen to emphasise, commenting yesterday in an interview with Recode that "privacy to us is a human right, a civil liberty".
