Student tried to swipe Jaguars QB Blake Bortles' truck, police say

Student tried to swipe Jaguars QB Blake Bortles' truck, police say

The truck was boxed in, so instead he apparently made a decision to crash the party, held at the home of Jaguars center Brandon Linder (per the AP).

And the pickup truck's owner?

Thankfully, the three of them were eventually able to get their act together to prevent the National Football League quarterback's expensive truck and wallet from committing an embarrassing turnover to a pesky teenager.

According to the Jacksonville Beach Police, Joseph Horton stole Bortles' truck and was found trespassing inside of a Jaguars player's home. Bortles told police nothing appeared to have been taken.

Apparently the video also showed Horton removing Bortles' wallet from his truck, the station noted, adding that the wallet later found on the ground.

Witnesses told police the act was caught on the home's surveillance video, and Horton seemed to have an affinity for the vehicles parked in the driveway.

When life gives you lemons...

Horton said he was looking for his girlfriend, but no one at the party knew who she was, either.

Not only that - he went upstairs. Blake and Jags lineman Chris Reed were all at a party at the Jacksonville Beach home of offensive lineman Brandon Linder when they noticed a unusual young man skulking around the house.

Police say that Bortles helped detain the suspect and was holding the teen inside the house when they arrived.

Horton is being charged with grand theft, burglary and trespassing.

A few minutes later, Linder asked him who he was, the report said.

As iconic cultural commentator David Lee Roth once put it, "His folks are overjoyed".
