Rage 2's Gameplay Shown Off In New Trailer

Rage 2's Gameplay Shown Off In New Trailer

There still isn't a release date, but expect more information at E3 2018.

"That's right, this is a f****ing AAAAAA game".

The gameplay will take place in a massive open world in what remains of humanity, but with no law, zero order and a survival of the fittest/nastiest play out it's going to be an eye watering ride. Filling the dusty boots of Walker-"the last Ranger of the wasteland"-you've lost your home to The Authority, an autocratic gang who rule with an iron fist". The most striking moment comes in the way of a attractive shot of two wasteland survivors playing baseball atop a moving train as the golden hour envelops the surrounding landscape.

Players will take up the mantle of Walker, the last remaining Vineland Ranger in the world. Head to wasteland for pure pandemonium in Spring 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Bethesda's now confirmed to GameSpot that Rage 2 is a collaboration between Avalanche (of Just Cause fame) and id. Considering how Avalanche Studios worked on a Mad Max game before RAGE 2, it is not surprising to see their efforts being utilized here. Given their expertise with open-world games, we can assume Rage 2's world will be vast and full of interesting activities to partake in. What quickly becomes apparent from watching Rage 2's debut teaser trailer is that the upcoming shooter is bursting with personality.

In the Bethesda Blog post that accompanies this gameplay trailer, the company explains that Rage 2 is actually the product of a team up between id Software and Avalanche Studios.

While they didn't go into too much detail regarding gameplay and plot, they did outline a few basic facets of, what they refer to as, "a new first-person shooterverse".

Given this publisher's push to get games on Nintendo's console after the original release, we are hopeful that it will make it there eventually. The game received praise for its graphics and gameplay at the time, but was knocked for issues over the story, characters, lack of things to do in the game world, and a poor autosave system for checkpoints.
