Wenger predicts 'inevitable' European super league

Wenger predicts 'inevitable' European super league

"The Premier League has become a worldwide championship".

The club announced he would be leaving on April 20 with the Gunners still in the Europa League semi-finals and with five Premier League games remaining.

"If the European League comes, all the leagues will be smaller".

"The next evolution.in a few years you will have a European league over the weekends", Wenger told British media.

"The domestic league will play certainly Tuesday and Wednesday".

"Why at weekends? Because the Champions League doesn't sell well any more". There's a contrast there because if you look at the audiences of the Champions League it is not fantastic.

The New York Times says that City and United were joined in the Federation Internationale de Football Association meeting by European rivals Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

"They will say 'people want to watch quality, so why should we have to share the money?'"

Only Brighton, Swansea City, West Brom and Stoke City have a worse Premier League record than Arsenal in the 2017-18 season.

"Because there was more questioning as well, you do not feel the same adhesion to what you do and when you stay here for such a long period you question yourself 'is it time now to go or not?'" In Europe overall you have big, big financial powers and in December you can say who will win the league.

Outgoing Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been on the receiving end of a deluge of compliments of late but the French tactician has returned the favour by, somewhat surprisingly, speaking fondly of a country he has never visited-India.

He added that the years after the club's move from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium in 2006 - when he had to manage with restricted budgets - were his most challenging.

"I would say it is a county with a special culture", Wenger responded when asked what it was that draws him to the Asian nation.
