Israel Hits Back at Hamas Terrorist Targets in Gaza

Tear bombs are thrown to Palestinian people gathering near the Gaza border with Israel on May 15, 2018. An intense backer of the Palestinian reason, Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday blamed Israel for genocide and state terrorism over the killings.

Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum dismissed Katz' claims saying, "there is no mediation". Israel said many of those killed were members of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad terror groups who were using the violent protests as cover to carry out attacks and damage the border fence.

Hamas claimed on Wednesday that 50 of the dead were members of the movement.

At Gaza City's Shifa hospital, the largest of the Gaza Strip's 13 medical facilities, officials ordered field tents to be put up in the hospital courtyard last week, fearing a likely surge in casualties from the protests around the time of the embassy opening.

Lapid told Israel Army Radio that "instead of Republicans and Democrats being united in their support for us as they were for many years, for almost 70 years, we have become part of the Republican Party". The blockade, which Israel says is needed to keep Hamas from arming, has decimated Gaza's economy.

Hamas in a statement on Thursday signalled it could resort to its weapons in response to this week's violence, but many analysts see that as unlikely for now.

However, he said, "people wear out and get fed up, and I am one of these people".

"How many Palestinians have to die before you take action?"

The Israel Defense Forces, the IDF, tweeted a video clip of the interview, accompanied by English captions. Haley said, referring to some protestors attempting to storm Israel's border.

Palestinian health officials said 107 people have been killed by Israeli fire, and at least 11,000 wounded, since the protests began on March 30.

The Palestinian Authority, nevertheless, has declared three days of mourning for what it describes as a "massacre" of its people by Israeli forces. The callous way in which Israel dealt with the protests shows the utter disregard Tel Aviv and the worldwide community have for Palestinian lives.

The demonstrations were held to protest against the USA embassy move from Tel Aviv to the contested city of Jerusalem. Israel's military said those comments proved the protests were not peaceful.

"This deception does not fool the Palestinian public", he said.

On Wednesday, Erdogan also said the Gaza bloodshed showed "the United Nations has collapsed".

Hamas leader Yehiyeh Sinwar, who was released in the 2011 prisoner swap, has hinted that a border breach is possible. They suffer from what the World Bank says is one of the highest rates of unemployment on earth, and say the blockade makes rebuilding impossible. However, over 50 countries, including most members of the European Union, boycotted the event. "In fact, the records of several countries here today suggest that they would be much less restrained".

Following in US' footsteps, Guatemala opens its embassy in Jerusalem, despite worldwide condemnation. "Israel can only be stopped with the help of such a boycott on a state basis", Demirhan emphasized. Hamas is intentionally and cynically provoking this response.

Turkey and Israel expelled each other's envoys on Tuesday in an escalating diplomatic dispute over the killing by Israeli forces of 60 Palestinians during protests on the Gaza border.
