‘Roseanne’ Cancelled: President Donald Trump Weighs In On ABC’s Decision

‘Roseanne’ Cancelled: President Donald Trump Weighs In On ABC’s Decision

Barr's post-firing tweets included an apology to those who lost their jobs because of her words, but her choice of retweets struck a defiant tone. Barr had retweeted people comparing those celebrities' treatment by the network to her own, insinuating there was a double standard at play.

Jarrett revealed that Bob Iger, the head of ABC parent company Disney, telephoned her personally to tell her the network was canceling the show.

There has been a ton of reactions to United States network ABC's decision to cancel its popular sitcom Roseanne after its star, Roseanne Barr, tweeted a racist comment about former Barack Obama staffer Valerie Jarrett.

"I don't know anything about it", he said. O'Donnell did, writing, "her racist comment was childish and beneath her best self", on Twitter on Tuesday.

She later tweeted that people should not defend her.

Fellow comedian and Roseanne consulting producer Wanda Sykes soon quit the series, and ABC then canceled the show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least. "She made a joke in poor taste move on". "And he said to me, oh my gosh, you married up in the world". She also said she was leaving Twitter.

Barr's sitcom was praised for breaking TV barriers by including topics related to gay marriage, poverty, classism in America and abortion when it debuted in the 1980s.

Arnold said that Barr's support for President Donald Trump and her belief in conspiracy theories ― such as "Pizzagate", a debunked theory about child sex rings associated with pizza parlors, and claims that Obama was not born in the United States ― were indications to him that something would go seriously wrong.

Arnold says during production of the first season of the reboot, he threw out the idea to family and the crew that someone should take Barr's phone away.

It tweeted that maybe the audience would prefer one of its own shows instead.

"@ValerieJarrett I want to apologize to you", she tweeted Tuesday night. One person asked why the 65-year-old was making excuses, to which she replied: "No, i didnt i blamed myself. stop lying". Kimmel responded with a chuckle, " Roseanne, you know I'm going to find that tweet in the next 40 seconds, right".

The ABC network pulled the plug on the revived show yesterday, just hours after Barr's tweet. Mr. Trump and conservative commentators praised the show for its depiction of a Trump supporter, while some on the left expressed reservations about even watching it. "And with that said, I have an idea that I think makes this work for everyone", he explained.
