First 'Bond girl' Eunice Gayson dead at 90

Eunice Gayson - best known for being the James Bond franchise's very first Bond girl - has died. according to producers of the famous film series.

Eunice Gayson, the first ever Bond Girl, has passed away aged 90.

'Our honest thoughts are with her family'.

She also starred in the 1958 Hammer horror classic The Revenge Of Frankenstein alongside the legendary Peter Cushing.

Gayson had originally been cast as Miss Moneypenny before the producers chose to replace her with Lois Maxwell and recast Gayson as a femme fatale character. "No" (1962), and "From Russia With Love".

In her role as Sylvia Trench, Gayson, who died on 8 June, helped to create one of cinema's most enduring catchphrases.

When asked in an interview in 2012 who her favourite actor to play the British spy was, Gayson replied: "Obviously my loyalty is with Sean".

Since the original Bond movie came out, there have been over forty movies produced, with every few years, a new actor coming in to be James Bond.

She played Bond's love interest Sylvia Trench having originally being cast as Miss Moneypenny.

Gayson was born in Surrey, U.K.in 1928, and had a number of roles before making it big in "Dr".

Gayson is still the only Bond girl to appear in two James Bond films.

Tributes have since poured into Twitter, with one tweet stating: "Oh no, not my auntie Eunice, she will be much missed, so many lovely memories of her, much love to Kate".

After meeting at the Le Cercle Club casino, Sylvia suggested raising the stakes and her co-star replied: "I admire your courage, Miss..."
