DOOM Eternal Announced; More To Come At QuakeCon

It's done it with Doom, it's done it with Wolfenstein, and it did it so successfully with Fallout 3 that the world has practically forgotten about the first two games produced by Interplay. And fans will be getting their new sequel in the form of Doom Eternal. Um, we don't know yet. During its E3 2018 press conference executive producer Marty Stratton and creative director Hugo Martin said the game would take everything that the previous game did and push it forward. And, instead of taking place on Mars, the developers and the imagery hinted at hell on Earth. They stopped short of revealing many specifics, but promised that Doom Eternal will feature new weapons and abilities for players to utilize against the demonic hordes. The name is interesting; we're not sure if it's a straight sequel to the last game, or if it's something more, like an open world, perhaps.

It shows a the titular Doom Slayer loading up his double-barrel shotgun and ready to wreak havoc onto demons in what appears to be a "Hell on Earth" scenario.
