Gears of War is heading to smartphones next year

Gears of War is heading to smartphones next year

It's a collaboration between Funko Pop! - you know, those ghastly collectible figurines - and Epic Games', well, epic third person shooter franchise.

Gears of War 5, and Gears Pop weren't the only Gears games announced at Microsoft's E3 2018 conference.

Video game stories from other sites on the web. But that's not all, Microsoft-owned studio The Coalition is also working on two Gears of War spin-offs: Gears Pop, a mobile game, and Gears Tactics, a strategy game.

More news will be shared on both titles later on, but they'll be coming to iOS and Android. Gears Tactics takes place 12 years before the events of the first game, with COGS facing off against the early Locust invasion.

Finally, we come to the star of the trio, Gears 5.

The Gears 5 trailer begins with Kait Diaz crying over the death of an unseen character.

The announcement mentioned the biggest and attractive world created by The Coalition.

Gears Tactics, a PC exclusive without a release date, brings XCOM-like tactical, isometric gameplay to the Gears universe.
