Guardiola fires back at Yaya Toure, calls Ivorian midfielder 'a liar'

Guardiola fires back at Yaya Toure, calls Ivorian midfielder 'a liar'

"He turned all Africa against himself, many African fans turned away from Manchester City", he said.

He was eventually offloaded to Manchester City arriving at the beginning of the clubs revolution.

Toure made 17 appearances for City in all competitions last season before being released, while Guardiola was handed a new contract with the club until 2021.

Toure takes a place on the bench.

Toure added: "Actually I want to be the one who breaks the Guardiola myth a bit".

And when you consider his 316 appearances, scoring 79 goals, you'd think he will be going down as as a true City legend.

"It got to the point I asked myself if it was because of my colour". Maybe it's the case that we Africans aren't always treated by certain people in the same way that they treat others.

Such is the ill-feeling between Toure and Guardiola, Seluk says that the Ivorian would be willing to play for any top-six club next season with a weekly wage of £1, supplemented by selected bonuses. He will never admit it.

"When we realise that he often has problems with Africans wherever he goes, I ask myself questions".

"He knows I'm not", insisted Guardiola when asked about Toure's previous claims the Spaniard "has problems with Africans".

Reacting to his's accusations, Guardiola told Catalan station TV3: "They were lies and he knows it".

When the subject was brought up, Guardiola was reserved in his assessment, telling This Is Premier League: "I would say we made the best year in the Premier League ever". (He had) 365 and 365 (days) to tell me (his feelings).
