Origin Access Premier is EA’s New PC Games Subscription Service

Origin Access Premier is EA’s New PC Games Subscription Service

"Millions of players have experienced the fun of playing more games through our subscription programs, and today we're taking another groundbreaking step with Origin Access Premier", said Electronic Arts' Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson.

EA SPORTS Madden NFL 19 which delivers visuals and gameplay powered by Frostbite, along with more game-changing control to players than ever before starting August 2, 2018 for Origin Access Premier members.

Origin Access Premier will cost $15 U.S. per month or $100 per year.

According to EA, this is a "new tier" of its PC gaming membership where subscribers can play full games such as Battlefield 5, Federation Internationale de Football Association 19, Madden NFL 19, and Anthem before launch.

Battlefield V - October 11, 2018 for Origin Access Premier, October 19 for everyone else.

On launch, new subscribers will get a 7 day free trial and will then be charged US$14.99 per month. Dive into the action starting February 15, 2019 for Origin Access Premier members. Users also get unlimited trials of upcoming EA games, as well as five-day early access to all new titles. Origin Access Premier unlocks unprecedented levels of choice and value for players who love PC games. The other difference is that you'll be able to stream the games rather than having to download them.

EA shared few details on the service and its capabilities, though hopes to distribute all "new PC games" through the service going forward. Note that there's differing rates between the monthly and yearly rates. Play the full game starting five days before launch without purchasing it separately, until you cancel your Premier membership. It's an interesting experiment from EA, particularly when you consider the PC audience hasn't exactly been kind to its advances due to its games sporting consumer unfriendly DRM like Denuvo.
